About Celebrate America 250 by lighting up The Woodlands Waterway with a unique one-time-only patriotic Firecracker 5K! Firecracker 5K will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2026 beginning at 7 p.m. along The Woodlands Waterway. The race is produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department and is a USA Track and Field (USATF) sanctioned event, with awards provided for overall male and female, as well as first, second and third place in both male and female age groups. The chip-timed 5K course winds throughout The Woodlands Waterway, providing a scenic route with a fun and enjoyable atmosphere fostering friendly competition. The 5K race is open to runners of all abilities and recommended for participants ages 10 and older. Runners are encouraged to dress in their best patriotic attire! There will not be an Awards Ceremony, but awards will be distributed onsite. A photo area will be available for participants. Groups
